New York: city fleets and Con Edison yards

New York's public CNG is a downstate story. Clean Energy operates a group of stations in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island that serve refuse fleets, the MTA and airport ground transport, and sells to the public at most of them. Con Edison and National Grid built stations at their own service centers, some of them public with a card reader. Upstate the network is thin: a pair of stations in Buffalo, one in the Albany area, and little between.

Fewer New York stations are open 24 hours or marked for Class 8 access than the national average, because so many are utility yards inside the city, and about half carry the RNG badge. Read the hours and access lines before an evening arrival.

The I-95 corridor page picks up the city stations and the New Jersey side of the river, where the turnpike truck stations are, and the I-80 page ends at the Bronx. For anything north of Westchester, check the state table above for the nearest listing and expect long gaps.
